Have you ever questioned God by asking how can He restore the shattered, scarred pieces of your heart? Things may be in total disarray, right at this very moment, in almost every area of your life emotionally and physically.
Your heart can be broken in so many pieces that there is a feeling of numbness. You may grow to despise this feeling but you are not able to wipe this feeling away, at least not on your own anyway. Rejection, loneliness, shame, and sadness will leave so many open wounds on your heart that cause you to think “how can anyone or anything mend this broken heart and make me well and whole again.” Everything seems shattered.
Your emotions may be all over the place. One minute you are fighting to take back your life and the next you want to give up on life and God. All it takes is any little thing going wrong or to the left as we often say. Especially, if you find yourself facing the same deep-rooted emotional chaos and you cannot see a way out. Everything seems shattered.
Physically your body is tired and run-down. The weight of the world rests on your worn, tired shoulders. This affects every part of your body and if you could touch the hem of His garment, just a little piece of Jesus, to be whole and complete, you would run to Him. Everything seems shattered.
But this is what our loving Father is saying to you right now, “I see your shattered heart, I see your shattered emotions, I see your shattered heavy-laden body, but I want you to know my dear daughter I can put it all back together again. I have not forsaken or abandon you. I told you in Psalm 139 that I know everything about you. When you are hurting, I wipe your tears and put a hedge around you to shield you from what could happen. When you felt like you were going insane, I am the One who put my hand over your mind and shielded it from completely unfolding into darkness and sent light to guide you into another day. When you thought you could not go on and the weight of everything you were carrying would have you surrender, I picked you up and carried you through to another day.
King David, who wrote Psalm 139, knew God and God knew David and He know you the same, He never changes. He knows you better than you know yourself, better than anyone else does. He will pick up your shattered heart and put it back together again and leave no scars or residue of your hurt and pain.
PSALMS 139 1-18
1 You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. 2 You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. 3 You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. 4 Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely. 5 You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me. 6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain. 7 Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? 8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. 9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, 10 even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. 11 If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,” 12 even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you. 13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful; I know that full well. 15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth .16 Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. 17 How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! 18 Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand, —when I awake, I am still with you.
God loves you with a tender heart and no matter how shattered things are right now trust that God is near and will put your shattered heart, mind, and body back together. He will not leave nor forsake you, Hebrews 13 … for He [God] Himself has said; I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!]
Trust that God knows everything you are going through and have gone through. He sees through shattered pieces and sees the daughter He loves and adores. He knows the plans He has for you from the beginning of time. Trust Him to bring those plans to pass for you.
