“So (as the result of the Messiah’s intervention) they shall [reverently] fear the name of the Lord from the west, and His glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him and put him to flight (for He will come like a rushing stream which the breath of the Lord drives)”. Isaiah 59:19
There are situations that arise that often leave us in hopelessness and puzzled about what has happened. When those times arise, it comes in like a wind and floods your whole being and before you know there is a disarrayed mess around you. You don’t know how to move out of it or how to respond to the situation. All knowledge of who you are in Christ and the awesomeness of the God in whom you serve vanishes. The overwhelming flood has brought destruction and it’s not pretty. The destruction may seem small to those looking at the situation or perhaps the destruction may have destroyed everything you held dear but in either situation, hearts are torn apart.
When you finally come to your senses, and you will, God will send someone (it may just be me writing this devotion) to tell you – “The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.” Exodus 14:14. It may look like a mess and you don’t know how the enemy got up in your space and caused this destruction, that has left you weak to the point that you have no courage to fight back, but my God will say – this is not your battle, it is mine, hold your peace.
God will begin to encourage you by saying “Behold, all those who were incensed against you shall be ashamed and disgraced; they shall be as nothing, and those who strive with you shall perish. You shall seek them and not find them – those who contend with you. Those who war against you shall be as nothing, as a nonexistent thing. For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you.’ ” Isaiah 41:1.
God will speak and tell you, Come on daughter hold your peace, all I want you to do is get in position. Worship me and praise me and stand still and see the salvation (deliverance) of the Lord.
“… For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You … Then the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jahaziel … thus says the Lord to you: ‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s … You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!” Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you.” 2 Chronicles 20:12-17
“… For I will contend with him who contends with you.” Isaiah 49:25
Everything that took your breath away, left you confused and discouraged, God will restore back to abundance. Your joy, a sound mind and who you are will be restored. You will know that you are more than a conqueror and that you are victorious. Everything that you thought was destroyed and leveled to the ground, will be raised up and renewed. God will give it back to you seven times greater.
“But if he is caught, he must pay back seven times what he stole, even if he has to sell everything in his house.” Proverbs 6:31
The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles.” Psalm 34:17
Remember the end reads “We win”. That is what my bible reads, Glory to God.
Father, hear my prayer as you inhabit my praise unto you. You are my strong tower and I run to you for shelter in the midst of all that is going on around me. I realize that this battle is not mine it is yours. Who am I to contend with those things that belong to you, you are my avenger. I will stand in the position of praise and worship unto you as I see your mighty hand move over my situations. I will praise you when you allow me to see that the battle is over and know that you have and will restore all. In the matchless name of your son Jesus Christ. Amen.
